Home Brands Rely on Foreign Imports

The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths are relying on cheap labour in countries such as South Africa and Thailand to deliver their burgeoning home brand lines at the lowest prices.
They further reported that a Fairfax investigation has found Coles and Woolworths issue global tenders to produce their home brand or "private label" products such as frozen berries, oils, rice, pasta sauces, canned spaghetti and tinned tuna, fruit and vegetables. And they stated that one in every four grocery items sold is a supermarket brand product. read full article...

Aussie Farmers Direct has been awarded ‘Best Customer Experience’ at the BRW AMPCSC Australian Retailer of the Year Awards 2012 as voted by the public.
The category was voted by customers who were asked to rate their experience with retailers of their choice against a range of metrics including; friendliness and helpfulness of staff, convenience and value of delivery, focus on customer service, and website security and useability. The winner was the company that scored the most strongly across all of these metrics.
